private sound healing

for 1-30 people

[You might have heard it called a soundbath, a gongbath, or sound therapy - all of these things are essentially the same thing.]

what to bring

I will set up my instruments, and everyone will find a space to lie down on. This is usually on a yoga mat on the floor, but you can lie on a sofa or chair if that's more helpful.

You'll need:

  • at least one blanket to keep you warm, and

  • a pillow for your head, and

  • another for under the knees is also a really good idea.

  • I usually recommend an eye mask too, as that really helps to get you feeling more relaxed.

You'll be lying down for an hour, and it's really important that you are comfortable. So bring along whatever else you need to be comfy (hot water bottles, warm socks, duvets etc).

how it works

During the session you will lie in a comfortable position, and relax whilst listening to the soothing sounds from the instruments I play.

Sound healing uses sound frequencies to promote relaxation, reduce stress, and enhance overall wellbeing.  During the session, because the body is fully resting, and because the tones are so soothing, the parasympathetic nervous system is activated. And that's when the body can heal. How cool is that?

The sound frequencies are produced from crystal bowls, gongs, drums and other instruments.  Many people describe the sounds as 'other worldly'.

things you need to know

  • The sounds you will hear are very safe, and the instruments come with no known health warnings.

  • On rare occasions, some individuals may experience discomfort or sensitivity to the sound.  If this happens, please just quietly leave the area until the sensation has passed.

  • If you are especially sensitive to aromas (incense, essential oils etc) please let me know via email here or tell me at the beginning of the session.

  • If you have any health issues that you think I should know about, please let me know via email here or tell me at the beginning of the session.

  • And, I know you know this, but sound healing is not a substitute for professional medical or psychological treatment. There, I said it.
